  • I want to share some ideas of using voicethread
    It´s simple and easy
  • focus on the content instead of the tool; can serve as a form of free writing
  • encourages collaborative storytelling
  • ability to use powerful images - one or many
  • users can zoom in to see detail and out to see big picture (haven’t figure that one out yet)
  • ability to add text
  • easy to capture voices
  • inspires ongoing conversation about each image
  • build fluency, precision and voice in second language
  • new dimension for creative analysis of historical photographs, maps and artifacts
  • ability to give and receive feedback from peers, teachers [formative and summative assessment], parents and other relatives, local and global community
  • can be used “as a storytelling tool, a deep thinking tool, a research tool, an expository communication tool, and even an asessment tool”
  • allows for differentiation to accomodate different learning needs and styles, another option for struggling or reluctant writers
VoiceThread can be a tool in creation:
  • capitalizes on creative talents
  • motivates digital generation
  • can suit many purposes: informative, quesitoning, historical, autobiographical, etc.

“A single photograph, capturing a single moment, can represent multiple stories.  This site collects and invites participation in the telling.”

  • create an photo album of your school or library narrated by students
  • share oral reports about research through digital story
  • opportunity for students to develop interview skills
    • interview techniques
    • build confidence with peers
    • asking open ended questions

  • help students conduct research
  • synthesize large amounts of content
  • gain expertise in using digital communications and authoring tools
3. Stories that Inform or Instruct
  • introduce new material
  • use as an anticipatory set or hook for a lesson
  • enhance current lessons
  • make difficult content more accessible
As you can notice, voicethread is an important tool we can use for learning purposes. If you read all the informantion you will see that there´s no reason for not using it.
In addition I want to mention that I like it better than voxopopsince voicethread has more optins ,so its prefference is obvious.
Regarding this technological tool,I like it because  we can be creative. We can comment, add closed caption, text, etc.and work with students effectively and creativily.
HERE ARE SOME STRENGTHS OF VOXOPOP.I THINK THAT THEY ARE NOT SO MANY..
  Strengths
  • allows for real communicative speaking and listening
  • its free
  • you have a good record of examples of your students speaking that you can listen to any pronunciation problems
  • assess their progress as their speaking develops
  • helps with ESOL students
  • students can subscribe to the feed and update on their iPod, phones, computers when a new message is added
  • After reading this material you can draw your own conclussions.
  • Hope you like it.

Boteo´s Comparison (Voicethread vs Voxopop)

i thinkisijsiss
According to Eduardo´s interview, the skill he  had troubles with was reading. His answers, he said, reflect how hard it was for him to succeed. But he tried and tried untill he became a better reader.
One of the strategies that helped him have good results are reading thirty minutes everyday, having books and magazines always at hand and having a optimistic attitude.

technology

It´s not so simple to use technology. If we want to implement it with our students we have to take into consideration  some obstacles that could  surge, but don´t pay so much attention to this. From my point of view, this takes a lot of time.
I think that facebook could play an important role in all this, because it is widely spread.By the way I want to thank those who make possible the availability of all this resourses.
Well, guys,I´ve been doing my best using voxopop, blogs, voicethread, gmail, etc.I´ve been really bussy with all this ,with lots of windows open.

Some public schools in El Salvador do not have a physical education teacher. So children can not advance and improve  their motor skills. This affects students not only physically but also mentally, emotionally and in their moods. Since children taking part in sports are stronger than those who do not, the implementation of a physical education program is absolutely necessary, not only as a subject but also because it is the way for us to have good athletes one day. But this requires a vast amount of economical resources.

Another problem in the education system in some public schools in El Salvador is the teaching of mathematics. Actually it is an abstract subject that requires new teaching methods as well as specialized teachers who have the ability and enthusiasm to break with traditional practices.Other aspects to take into account are that students do not show any interest in mathematics and they get bad grades.at the end we have student with low math profficiency levels.!Really worrying!

From the beginning of schooling, differences among classmates in learning mathematics are vast. A few students quickly grasp
concepts and progress without any problems, others have a very slow pace, even without particular difficulties and show few serious difficulties
some aspects of mathematical learning:
memorizing multiplication tables and / or procedures, resolve problems or situations, etc.. In short, in any classroom
mathematics in primary education, there is a great variety in the skills that show students in learning rates, in the foreground, on motivation, attitudes toward the subject, etc..

A good number of students that are being taken down in classrooms, are students with a slower learning of mathematics that prevail in the classroom. The content structure of mathematics in primary is hierarchical, it is built on new knowledge previously acquired. A child may not have any trouble, just his pace is slower, and if this is not taken into account, if we rush to instill new knowledge rather than consolidate previous ones, neither will they learn one nor the other.
